An onion can make people cry but there's never been a vegetable that can make people laugh.

Born in Los Angeles, Michael's family moved to Connecticut where his father opened a consulting firm and his mother attended college.  His father's work took the family to Pennsylvania for the summer of his 8th birthday and then to Manassas, Virginia before returning to Connecticut.  After the divorce of his parents, Michael moved with his mother to Baton Rouge, LA where she attended LSU for her Ph.D.

Due to the restrictions of the graduate program, at the age of 15 Michael dropped out of high school and he and his mother opened the Comic Book Emporium in Catfish Town Mall.  A hobby/book store specializing in comic books and games, it did quite well before the mall failed and Michael left for college.

Michael attended Southern Connecticut State University, earning a Bachelors in Corporate Communications before continuing on to earn a Masters in Early Childhood Development.  Michael taught in Bridgeport, CT and then Branford, CT before leaving the classroom to work as an education consultant.

In 1998 Michael, while freelancing for Wizard Magazine online , interviewed writer/director Kevin Smith about his Daredevil comic book.  Smith referred to it as one of the more "intelligent and articulate" interviews he had ever done.  On the other hand, Smith married the next reporter that interviewed him so he might just have a thing for journalists.

In 2001 Michael was accepted at the Quinnipiac University School of Law.

That same year Michael hosted the Project Greenlight party during Grand Opening Week of the Planet Hollywood in Times Square, NY.

From 2004 to 2005 while finishing law school Michael worked full time for the Department of Children and Families as a Social Worker.  Michael earned his J.D. in 2005 and began representing children and parents involved with DCF through Lawyers for Children America.

Following graduation Michael took a change of clothes and climbed on his motorcycle to tour the United States.  He gave himself 10 days but only made it as far as Florida and spent 5 days sitting on a beach.  It is still a life dream to tour the United States, Canada and Mexico on his motorcycle.

In 2005 Michael and his then-fiance Michele Hoff purchased a home in Hartford, CT.  That year Michael had the honor of working with the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, the oldest civil rights commission in the United States.  He created training and curriculum programs for employees and citizens involved with CHRO combining for the first time his legal and his education expertise.

In 2006 Michael enlisted in the US Army National Guard.  He currently serves as Sergeant and Team Leader in a Connecticut Military Police unit.

That year, once again, he put together a cross country trip but this time with friends and the intent to avoid Florida and its tempting beaches.  The group made it Baltimore, Washington D.C., the skyline highway in Virginia, Nashville, TN, Memphis, TN, Little Rock, AR, (with a side trip to Hope), Dallas, TX, and finally San Antonio, TX before turning back due to...taking too much time to see the sites.

In 2007 Michael and Michele Hoff married.  They continue to live in the West End of Hartford and have two children Ryan Elise and Jackson Davis.  That year Michael served on active duty with the US Army.

In 2007, Michael and business partner Mark Bonano launched Lawisfun.com, a website dedicated to the fun and enjoyable side of the practice of law.

In 2008 Michael was fired from the Connecticut Bar Association.  The termination came after he met with fellow staff to assess complaints then met several times with representatives of various unions.  Following a lunch meeting with staff and passing out materials on unionizing Michael was escorted from the building.  A state legislative hearing on the matter found that the firing was inappropriate and that the CBA had not followed its own published discipline policy.  The management responsible for the decision no longer work for the organization.

Michael took advantage of the change, and after years of working pro bono, opened a law practice to fully focus on the needs of parents and children involved with DCF.  Michael maintains an office in Hartford, CT

2009 Michael began his political career with an unsuccessful run for Board of Education for the city of Hartford. Michael was named to the Hartford Flood Commission by Governor Jodi Rell.  He was also elected to the Hartford Republican town committee and was a representative to the 2010 Republican State Convention.

In 2010 Michael was elected as a Justice of the Peace.  He is currently available to perform wedding ceremonies and specializes in same-sex marriages.

In 2011 Michael announced his candidacy for Hartford City Counsel, endorsed by the Republican party.

In addition to LawisFun.com, Michael operates a solo law practice, works as a business consultant, and teaches for Charter Oak State College.

Michael is a father to his three children, husband to a far more fascinating woman, working on his MBA at the University of Connecticut in Hartford, and, in his free moments, learning to play guitar.  On occasion, Michael works as a certified mediator, an education consultant and motivational speaker.  He is a Mug Club member at City Steam, annual member to the Science Museum, and an ex-member of Mensa.
